Privacy Policy

Information you provide. We may collect your name or username, email address, account credentials, uploaded content (documents, notes, text, files), and communications with support.

Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, Apple, Google). We do not store full payment card details. We may receive transaction IDs, subscription status, billing country, and payment timestamps.

Automatically collected. We automatically collect IP address, device type, browser, OS, login timestamps, feature usage and interaction logs, and approximate location (country/region). This data is used for security, fraud prevention, analytics, and dispute defense.

For users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process personal data under the following lawful bases:

• Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to provide the Service, subscriptions, AI features, and account access.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — fraud prevention, chargeback defense, security, service improvement.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — only where explicitly required (e.g., optional marketing).

Withdrawal of consent does not affect prior lawful processing.

We use personal data to operate and maintain the Service, generate AI-based study assistance, authenticate users and secure accounts, process payments and subscriptions, prevent fraud and abuse, respond to support requests, enforce our Terms of Service, and defend against disputes, chargebacks, or legal claims.

• Uploaded content is processed by automated AI systems.
• AI outputs are generated probabilistically and are not reviewed by humans by default.
• AI outputs are assistive only and may be inaccurate.

We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing.

We use essential cookies (authentication, security), analytics tools, and fraud-prevention mechanisms. Disabling cookies may impair functionality.

We retain personal data while your account is active and as required for billing, legal compliance, or dispute defense. After account deletion, we may retain transaction records, IP logs, and usage logs — necessary for fraud prevention and legal obligations.

We may share data with payment processors, cloud hosting providers, analytics and security vendors, and legal authorities where required. All third parties are contractually obligated to protect data.

By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that Mastery Labs LLC may retain and disclose relevant data to respond to payment disputes or chargebacks, including IP address at signup and purchase, account access logs, usage activity, subscription activation timestamps, and acceptance of Terms and Privacy Policy. This processing is justified under legitimate interest and contractual necessity.

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection. Requests may be lawfully denied where retention is required for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Your data may be processed outside your country of residence. For EU users, transfers are safeguarded using Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and industry-standard security measures. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

StudiSpace is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if such data is discovered, it will be deleted.

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption and access controls. However, no system is fully secure, and you use the Service at your own risk.

The StudiSpace Chrome extension is optional. It uses five browser permissions, and only for the following:

• activeTab and scripting. Only when you open the extension popup, the extension reads the page in your current tab: its address and title, the text you have selected, and the page’s visible text. It cannot read a page until you open the popup on it, and it never reads other tabs, form fields or hidden content. On chat apps and email it uses only the text you select. What it reads stays in the popup and is discarded when the popup closes. Only if you choose Study or Solve is that text used: Study opens it in StudiSpace in a new tab, and Solve opens it in the extension’s side panel, in both cases with the page’s title and the site’s name but not the page’s address, and editable before anything is generated. For a YouTube video, the video’s address is sent instead.
• sidePanel. Instant Solve opens in Chrome’s side panel. Opening it sends nothing. When you press Solve, Hint or Check my work, or ask a follow-up, the question, the context shown with it (such as assignment instructions and the site’s name) and any work you pasted are sent to StudiSpace to generate the answer.
• contextMenus. When you select text and choose one of the extension’s items in the right-click menu, the selected text is opened in the side panel (Solve with StudiSpace, or Explain for a short selection) or sent to StudiSpace in a new tab to make study material.
• storage. Browser storage keeps, on your device, the study format you last chose and any text you pasted into the popup but have not sent yet (deleted once you send it), and Instant Solve’s current question and answer, which stay in memory until you close the browser. It also holds a random identifier for this installation and, if you sign in, a session for your StudiSpace account and its email address. Those two are sent only to StudiSpace’s Instant Solve service, which accepts them for nothing else. Once you have signed in, it also keeps a yes-or-no note that this browser has been signed in. That note stays after you sign out, is never sent anywhere, and only stops the extension offering the no-account free answer again.

Instant Solve accounts and limits. Your first Instant Solve needs no account. To count free answers and prevent abuse, StudiSpace records the installation’s identifier with the number of answers it has used, and keeps short-term counts keyed by one-way hashes of your IP address and of your account, deleted after a few days. To keep solving, you create or sign in to a StudiSpace account on studispace.com, which then gives the extension a session for that account; your Instant Solve answers count against it. StudiSpace keeps a record of each extension session: your account, its email address and when the session began. Signing out removes the session from the extension and ends it; the ended record is kept with your account until you delete the account. A session also ends if your account is disabled or its sign-ins are revoked. When you delete your StudiSpace account, Instant Solve stops answering for it as soon as the deletion begins, and every extension session for it, in every browser, is deleted along with its email address. The installation’s record keeps only that its free answer was used, so deleting an account does not give it back.

Content sent to StudiSpace through the extension is handled like any other content you upload, as described in this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
